12 Important Emotions
As children, we have often hear: "control your emotions", "think sensibly", 'there is no point to cry over spilled milk "and many other advices given by adults who are important to us. These advices were to teach us to ignore or erase important emotions. However, emotions are like internal compass. They give information about what is happening to us, what we want, let us deal with loss and celebrate successes, build relationships with other people and with ourselves.
In this book, twelve Polish authors talk about twelve important emotions. Tracing the inner experiences of the protagonists of the tales, theirs struggle, among others, with shame, anger and fear, longing and sadness, as well as feelings of joy, contentment and pride, children can discover that there are no bad and good emotions. Children learn to name and understand own emotional states. Parents receive help in fulfilling one of the most important tasks – guiding children through this inner world. They learn how to be a mirror in which the child will be able to see safely and see with a whole range of emotions.
Let's read this book to children, and encourage them to read it for themselves. Let them grow up to be adults who can cope with emotions.
